Our Mission

At Elements Workspace, our mission is to cultivate an enriching environment that fosters the innate curiosity and love for learning in everyone. Through our unique, self-directed educational approach, we aim to empower learners of all ages to explore their interests, develop their skills, and grow into confident, lifelong learners.

Current Offerings

Starbirds

Mornings for the Starbirds, catering to children aged 3-6, start off with a music or outdoor nature hour, followed by a shared snack and some focused work. The afternoons include a group lunch (BYO), collaborative projects, outdoor play, and some reading time. $17/hour.

Moonstones

Outdoor nature hour for children aged 6-9 is followed by a shared snack and a period of focused work. The afternoons include a group lunch (BYO), collaborative projects, outdoor play, and some independent reading time. $17/hour.

Trailblazers

Our Trailblazers, aged 9-12, are seasoned learners and often come to us with passions and interests of their own. We tailor our half-day Trailblazer offering to the interests of the group and, in collaboration with them, design meaningful learning experiences. $17/hour.

Raindrops

Our littlest learners, aged 0-3, are joined by their caregiver in a parent/child bonding hour twice a week. The Raindrops engage in sensory, gross-motor, and free play, while the caregiver practices observation and light support. $20/hour.

Grownups

Parents are people too! Our member caregivers are welcomed to bring their work to our co-working space. Participating parents can enjoy complimentary coffee, Wi-Fi, and a dedicated remote-working environment. Complimentary.

What is self-directed education?

Self-directed education is a learner-led approach where the child's interests and curiosity guide their learning process. It is often compared to Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf methodologies. Who can join Elements Workspace?

Elements Workspace is open to all families who are interested in a self-directed approach to education. We cater to learners from infancy to adulthood. Learners who are school-age (in New York State, the calendar year they turn 6 years old) are legally homeschooling.

What age groups do you cater to?

We have programs for different age groups: Raindrops (0-3 years), Starbirds (3-6 years), Moonstones (6-9 years), and Trailblazers (9-12 years). We offer a co-working space for remote-working parents and regular community bonding and enrichment workshops.

What does a typical day at Elements Workspace look like?

A typical day at Elements Workspace is filled with child-led activities, socialization, play, and exploration. Parents are encouraged to stay, work, or relax at our center while their children learn and play.

Do you offer any programs for parents?

Yes, we offer workshops and events for parents with themes of parent/child bonding and community. We also support parents with keeping up with homeschool compliance.
