We built this because we needed it.
Elements Workspace started in 2023 because a group of Brooklyn homeschooling families needed something that didn't yet exist here - a real learning environment, with genuinely experienced educators, built for how homeschooling families actually live. We're in Gerritsen Beach, at the edge of Brooklyn and the water. Intimate by design. Growing slowly on purpose.
Our Philosophy
Responsive to the children in front of you.
Great education requires two kinds of knowledge: what children at each stage are genuinely ready for and who the specific children in the group actually are. Our guides bring both. That combination shapes the environment they prepare and every interaction within it.
Intimate by design.
Genuine responsiveness to individual children requires guides with real bandwidth for each child. Small enough to know everyone. Intentional enough to build something together.
Community as purpose.
Children here know each other. Guides know your child. Families know each other. Multi-age groups, consistent schedule, real friendships - these are structural choices, not byproducts.
Our Story
Elements Workspace was founded on a simple conviction: children learn best when the adults around them pay close attention to who they actually are.
We opened in 2023 in Gerritsen Beach - a tight-knit neighborhood at the edge of the city, with beaches, walking trails, and a pace that most people don't associate with New York. We built around homeschooling families who had made a deliberate choice about education and needed a partner who could deepen it.
In three years, our community has served over forty families. Families come for the program and stay for the people.
Who We Serve
Our families have made an intentional choice to step outside conventional schooling - some from the beginning, some after finding it wasn't the right fit. Some are new to homeschooling and looking for community and structure. Some are experienced and looking for a trusted partner.
What they share is a desire to find a place their child genuinely belongs and a community that grows with their family.
